Fried.

A couple of weeks ago while I was working late at night my laptop cord start smoking and shooting sparks. Needless to say it was fried.

That's totally how I'm feeling right now. Fried. Physically, mentally, emotionally fried.

We have been beyond busy the past couple of weeks, had several major changes and I've been sick to top it all off. I'm on the up and up and things are getting back to a normal pace.

Hopefully I'll be able to play catch up over the next couple of weeks.  Just wanted to say that we're still here.

29.6.1

29 years ago today my parents were married in the Salt Lake Temple.

{I love looking through their wedding pictures}

6 years ago today I went (begrudingly) with my roommate to an LDS Singles dance at Trolley Square to hang out with an old friend and met Aaron. (Yes, we went to high school together but we never knew each other) Thanks Katie and Lance for making me go against my wishes.

{This picture isn't from when we were dating-we were actually married here-but all my old pictures are in Bear's room and I'm NOT going to risk waking him up. Aaron got the husband of the year award this week when he went fishing through our complex dumpster to find a client's order that I accidentally threw away...what a guy.}

1 year ago today this little pill was due to join our family.

{I'm getting about as much sleep at night now as I did when he was first born. Doesn't he know that once he starts sleeping through the night he can't revert back to waking up at all hours}

Spring Forward

I can't believe it's already daylight savings time, although that does mean Spring is just around the corner-which I am so excited for. The other night I was out taking pictures of a soon to be missionary and couldn't help but snap of few sure signs of spring.

Tomorrow morning I'm on my way to San Francisco for an engagement session. I'm really excited for the 60 degree weather, Calfornia sun, as well as the chance I'll have to hang out with an awesome couple all day. It's just a short trip seeing as how I'll be back in Salt Lake on Sunday afternoon-but I'm excited nonetheless. (Also a little anxious about leaving my baby overnight)

We got a nice little e-mail from Aaron's work reminding us about daylight savings and to update our 72 hour kits.

"Environmental Health and Safety urges, as you adjust your clocks for Daylight Savings Time, take a moment to not only replace the batteries in your home smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, but to also update your family emergency preparedness kit. For information on what to include in your kit, check out the guidance EHS provides here."

I thought it was some excellent advice/info and while I'll be out of town it's going on my to do list when I get back.

While I'm on the subject of advice from the U and since this post is already FOREVER long I'm going to tell you if you don't have a fire escape plan you really should. In fact I think you should make one and practice it for FHE on monday night. The BTICU had a bad case a couple weeks ago and Aaron was once again reminded about the need for an escape plan. Also do me a favor and check your water heater. Here's a little info on how long it could take to get burned:

124 Degrees-3 minutes
127 Degrees-60 seconds
133 Degrees-15 Seconds
140 Degrees-5 Seconds
149 Degrees-2 Seconds
156 Degrees-1 Second

On that note I hope you all have an excellent weekend.

Bandwagon

So I've totally fallen off the blogging bandwagon lately. I'm not really sure why. I've been intending to blog but it always seems to get pushed back on the to do list and now I can't even remember what I was going to blog about! Here's a couple pics from recent events.

Aaron just finished Elders Quorum basketball. He was a ref this year as well as played for our ward's team. I know he had a good time, but I'm glad its over and we can have our Friday nights back. (Why do they schedule the games on Friday night-don't they know it's supposed to be date night....)

Our cute Bear watching Aaron play.
It was so nice outside last week that I couldn't resist taking Bear out to swing on the swings. He really seemed to like it.

And then I realized they weren't safe at all as he fell out of it-I'm so glad he wasn't swinging high and that he could touch the ground. (You can tell that chain is doing a lot of good holding him in safely!)

He liked the slide too. (Just ignore the boogers, they're a constant at our house these days and he has a melt down when I try to wipe his nose)

It's not fair to have 61 degrees in the morning and then have it look like this in the afternoon.

Taking a sunday nap.

In Like a Lion...

March definitely held up to it's reputation in Utah this morning. I went to run errands around 1 and it was 61 degrees outside. Just a few hours later it was snowing! I think I'd rather be anywhere but here right now.

unsolicited advice

Today I went to the local Target to pick up a few things, one of which was a child proof lock set for the kitchen cabinets. The checker noticed the lock and commented that I must be childproofing. I joking replied that I was attempting it, but nothing could stop my child.

The rest of the conversation went something like this:

C: my sister just bought the ones that you drill into the cabinets and those work really well.

M: Ya, we tried those, they just broke the cabinet door and we're moving soon so I don't really want to go through the trouble of drilling all the holes and everything.

C: Well you know, back in the day they didn't have childproofing stuff they actually had to watch their kids.

**note to self: actually WATCH your child to keep them out of danger! I'm so glad I went to Target today to get this priceless advice.

Wasting Time

You'd think I didn't have anything to do today with the amount of time I've wasted on the internet. I'm trying to plan a vacation here for Aaron and me

A girl can dream can't she?

I also found out I could m&m myself..and of course I couldn't stop at just me...

The Washing Machine

So this morning I was doing the dishes and I heard this klunk-klunk-klunk and realized the washing machine was off balance. I went back to re-arrange the clothes and couldn't get the door open. The washing machine had moved so much that it was blocking the door. I called Aaron and tried talking over the horrendous noise the washing machine was making and he told me to kick in the door.

We have (had) this lovely little decoration on the bottom of the door that I ended up banging in with the broom handle.

Once I got it all cleared out I tried pushing with my arm. Nothing. So then I tried kicking it back with my leg. Nothing.
I ended up having to climb through the hole to push the washing machine back so I could open the door. Aaron thought I was crazy, but I made him take "re-enactment" pictures tonight.

I have a story about a mix-master turning on me, but that will have to be saved for another day.

Have any of your household appliances ever gone crazy on you?

A-MAZ-ING

O.K. seriously was the Superbowl game not amazing? It was so much fun to have my mom and Eric along with Aaron's parents, Heather and her kids over to the house to watch the game. We enjoyed good food, good company and a great game. What a good way to spend a Sunday.

Blessed.

Yesterday as I was listening to President Hinckley's funeral on the radio I couldn't help but feel so overwhelmed with the realization of all the blessings I have. It amazes me to think that over the course of the last twelve years the number of temples have more than doubled.

I am so blessed to have been sealed in the Temple for all eternity. What an awesome thing the Plan of Salvation is. I would truly be heartbroken if I didn't have the knowledge that my boys are mine for eternity. I am truly grateful for a husband that is willing to attend the temple with me each month. I don't think there's anything better than sitting in the celestial room with him.

My heart goes out to President Hinckley's family as well as President Monson and his family. I can't imagine the burden he feels right now as he is preparing to lead us.

Supersac

Aaron and I bought this 6 foot love sac a few years ago and then moved out of our condo right after. We've been storing it at my mom's and now she can't store it anymore-so we're selling it.

This particular model is the olive microsuede which is sold out online. It retails for $550 and we're selling it for $300. It's been sat in maybe a dozen times and is in awesome condition. Let me know if you're interested, or if you know someone that might be please send them my way.

All in Days Work

So when Aaron gets home from work he'll ask me how my day was and what I did. Most days I really feel like I didn't do anything yet I'm exhausted. I decided to document my day to see just what I do. Here it goes...

I usually try to get the dishes done right after dinner, but it doesn't always go as planned-which means most days I do them the next morning. Can you believe all of these dishes were from one meal? I think I need to start simplifying my cooking!

Bear gets into the TV cabinet at least 5 or 6 times a day. He loves to dump out all the DVDs. He totally knows he's been caught red handed.

Snack time. Where I usually get coated in whatever he's eating. His new favorite thing is to spit after every bite. I try to be firm with him about not spitting-but seriously sometimes I can't help but laugh because he's so dang cute when he does it.

Bear's other favorite activity would be pulling ALL of the towels out of the bathroom cabinet. He even climbs into the cabinet to make sure he gets the ones in the back. At least it keeps him entertained while I'm getting ready for the day.

Does the laundry ever stop?

Finally a nap!

I try really hard not to work when Bear is awake so as soon as he goes down, I rush to get as much work done as possible-usually I end up looking at blogs and not getting anything done-definitely need to work on that.

Of course Bear eats multiple times a day. For some odd reason on this particular day he was insisting on kneeling while I was feeding him. I felt like I was feeding a calf.

Thank goodness Nana took us out to dinner that night-I don't think I could have handled more dishes.

Lucky for me after dinner Aaron went and played/refereed church ball, mom watched Bear and I got to go to a movie with Heather and RuLynn. It was so nice to get out of the house. And that would be my day in a nutshell. I swear I did more than that....

Go Naked

Oh c'mon, get your mind out of the gutter--it's the name of a soap; which by the way is AMAZING. My hands get so dry and cracked during the winters here that I have to super glue my fingers--yes I said super glue my fingers where they've split open. That was until I found this soap. I LOVE it. I am constantly washing my hands and dishes (seeing as how I seem to be the best dishwasher the apartment is equipped with at the moment) and it was a killer on my poor hands-but not anymore. You should go out and get yourself a couple bottles. If for no other reason you should do it just because the name of the soap makes me giggle.

Good Day

Just a few things to remember about today
*Rocking Bear to sleep for his nap and bedtime. He's been having such a rough time falling asleep since he's been sick-but I love cuddling with him.
*How pretty everything was after the snow storm this morning.
*Eating a bowl of chocolate pudding just because
*Changing back into my pj's before noon and lounging all day with my little guy.
*Watching Bear play by himself for a good hour.
*The really nice neck massage Aaron gave me before he went to bed knowing I'd be up editing for another couple of hours.

Happy 2008 !!!!

So I know I'm a few....ummm......okay, maybe really 9 days behind in posting this! I hope you all had a fabulous new years eve. Our was super low key, in fact I fell asleep before 10:30 watching a movie at Aaron's parents house. It's alright though, I can totally admit that I'm just a tired mom these days.

Now on to the resolution. I decided that this year I'm making ONE, yes that's right just one resolution. I have this book that I LOVE, in fact I think anything printed by this company is fabulous. The book is called LIVE GOOD-I know I totally stole my blog title from this book. Anyway, I decided this is MY year to really develop myself and to enjoy life as it comes. I'm looking back over 2007 and realizing I missed so much because I was wishing for the next phase to come. So that's it, this year I just want to live good.

What are your resolutions for this year?
