Disneyland (again...)

We've had a couple unblogged trips to Disneyland over the past little while. I'm sure you're all wondering exactly how much Disneyland can be blogged about...well I'm here to find out! What can say, we live in Southern California now, so it's just what we do.

The first trip happened the end of February. April and I both had sick kids, but we were sick of being in our houses, so we did the responsible thing and took our kids to Disneyland. Now that I said that, do I really have to ask myself why my kids keep getting sick?

Bear rode the roller coaster in toontown and was so proud of himself. Now he keeps telling me when it gets his birthday he will be taller and he can ride the really big roller coaster. Meaning, he thinks after he turns 3 he can go on the Screamin' California roller coaster. Almost, little buddy. In the mean time we'll just have to go to toontown every Disney visit now.

As for the picture of Moose screaming, despite it's claims, Disneyland is not always the happiest place on Earth.

Our next trip to Disneyland was actually on a Friday night. We met up with a couple families after Aaron got out of clinicals. We were able to see the Pixar Parade for the first time, which was really fun. Bear loved seeing all of his favorite characters.

And....drumroll please-I went on the tower of terror. I was pretty nervous because of my fear of heights, but it was actually really fun. We took turns watching the kids so the guys went first and then the girls. I'm sure Grace and April think I'm a total whimp because I really was so nervous (and I may or may not have tried to hold Aprils hand). I tried to take a picture of the picture, so it's blurry, but we are the 3 in the back right on the ride.

We stayed until just before fireworks, and then it was a mad house trying to maneuver through the crowds in our big double jogger. We were able to catch some of the fireworks while heading to the car. I'd love to go back with just Aaron and stay late enough to see the fireworks in the park.
Needless to say we really like Disneyland. In fact, I think we're due for another excursion.

Dad and Disney

Wednesday afternoon Aaron called and asked me if I wanted to go to Disneyland on Thursday. I guess the CRNA's at the hospital were having a big meeting so they couldn't do clinicals that day. Of course we took him up on the offer.

I did have to laugh Thursday night as my friend asked how Disnelyand was. It started off with us driving off with the water bottles on top the car. Then there were a couple accidents on the freeway; followed by a crazy accident we were witnesses do once we got into Anaheim. Aaron pulled over to make sure everyone was okay, then it was back on the road to Disneyland.

Once we got to Disneyland Aaron had to go get his picture for his season pass and for some odd reason the line was pretty long. Then once he and Bear finally made it to the front of the line for their first ride Bear realizes he has to go to the bathroom…

The whole day went something like that; but we had a good time. Bear was definitely excited to show Dad all about Disneyland and shoot Zurg with him. We can't wait until we all get to go again.

Disney with the Princesses

We spent the day at Disneyland with our friends again. I got a good laugh out of Bear as we were waiting for the tram. One of the workers commented on the girls princess dresses and he said "look at my dress!" I had to explain that girls wear dresses and he got to be Superman for the day.

I learned a few things:
Snow White is too scary for Bear. He told me he wanted to go home right after we got off.
The Winnie the Pooh ride is a new favorite-except for Paige who seemed afraid of every ride
Tarzan's tree house has a lot of steps
Pirates of the Caribbean is not necessarily a family friendly ride…
You can't have 3 kids and 1 adult on Dumbo (thank you to the Disneyland Worker who rode with Bear and Hannah)
Taking a sick baby to Disneyland for the day is NOT a good idea
California traffic sucks during rush hour

Despite Moose not feeling well we had another successful Disneyland trip. Thanks to "the girls" for going with us for the day!

Magic Kingdom

We are officially Disneyland Season Passport holders and couldn't be more excited about it. We spent the day there with some friends on Wednesday and are already planning our next trip back. Doing Disneyland with a toddler and a baby is a whole new experience for me. We were able to do a handful of rides between bathroom breaks, lunch and feeding the babies. The best part about having season passes is that there's no stress to do everything.

The first ride we went on was the Buzz Lightyear Ride and I think the big Zurg made Bear a little nervous. Maria volunteered to sit with Moose, Paige and Audrey while April and I took our older kids on the Matterhorn; I'm pretty sure it almost ruined Bear's Disnelyand experience. Definitely a little too fast, dark and scary for a 2 year old. Oops.

Right after that we went on the carousel and Bear thought it wold be like the matterhorn so he kept yelling at me to hold him tight. Luckily he got over his fear of rides and we were able to have a fun day.

Another highlight was seeing Lightning McQueen and Mater. As soon as Bear saw McQeen he yelled "there's me". When Paige touched the car he got his made face on and yelled "don't touch me!" It totally cracks me up that he really thinks he's Lightning McQueen.

Moose was a trooper. He was so good to chill in his stroller and loved all the rides I took him on. Bear still talks about the scary monster at Disneyland more than anything else from the day. We'll have to see if we can fix that with our next visit.
