If....

{Aaron Hawaii 1999}

If you would have told me 11 years ago that I was going to marry the "jock" in my high school aerobics class I would have laughed and told you that you were absolutely crazy.

If you would have told me 8 years ago that I'd marry the boy with platinum hair at the LDS Singles dance at Trolley Sqaure I would have rolled my eyes and said yeah right.

If you would have asked me 7 1/2 years ago how I felt about marrying Aaron, I would have said I was the luckiest girl in the world.

And I still believe that today.

Thank you Aaron for giving the shy girl a chance and for making me and the boys the luckiest bunch in the world.

Just how lucky am I?

Aaron cleans the house on a regular basis
He is a master on the bbq grill. my mouth waters just thinking about his julep ribs.
He insists I take naps and keeps the boys entertained while I do just that.
He cooks dinner while I take my said naps.
He works so hard at everything he does.
He is handy around the house.
He would do anything for us.
He hates it when people brag about their spouses and get all mushy, so I'll stop now.

I seriously can't believe we met 8 years ago today.
And, I can't believe the is no picture to be found of Aaron with his platinum hair. It was something special to say the least.

epidural anyone?

Aaron was getting ready for a day in the OB department and pulled out his epidural kit to check things out. All I can say is that I can't believe I've had that needle stuck in my back twice--it's huge!

You

I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.

And there's no one I'd rather live it with than you. Happy Valentine's Day!

Aaron sent me my virtual bouquet of flowers again this year. Awesome.

Exhausted

Because

nothing says I love you and I'm so glad I married you 7 years ago like a Nerf gun.

Aaron and I celebrated our 7the anniversary driving from Bountiful to St. George. I thought the hotel had an indoor pool and thought we'd take the boys swimming and then go out to eat to celebrate. Well, there was no indoor pool but we did end up eating burgers and fries from 5 guys (courtesy of gift cards from Santa) in our hotel room. I told Aaron not to get me anything, but couldn't resist getting him a nerf gun. Now that I've been shot in the head countless times I may be regretting the purchase….

Battle Zone

New Years Eve morning I found Aaron upstairs playing with the Lincoln logs, baby blocks and army men. I'm pretty sure he didn't know what else to do with himself since he left all his schoolwork home.

And, after a few days on the meds our Moose was back to being our happy little guy. Don't you just want to kiss those chubby cheeks?

How to dispose of a Christmas Tree in 5 easy steps

1. Make sure it's dark outside
2. turn off balcony lights
3. lift up tree and throw it over the balcony

4. run downstairs and quickly throw tree in dumpster
5. walk back to apartment as if nothing unusual happened and there isn't a very large hole in the lawn from tree trunk.

World Championship Ice Racing Series

We had free tickets to the world championship ice racing series on Saturday night. Since Moose was feeling pretty sick we decided it would be fun to have Aaron take Bear out for a fun night with just the 2 of them.

I know when you think of ice racing you're thinking speed skating....ya not quite. This was motorcycles and 4 wheelers racing on the ice.

Bear LOVED it. He has been talking about it non stop all day today and has had to watch some video clips of it over and over on the camera. If you were to ask him about it he would tell you that the motorcycles went really fast on the ice and then they crashed; and that he ate a hot dog all gone in his belly. Nice to know the $5.00 hot dog made it as one of the nights highlights since it cost so much. Really, who pays five bucks for a hot dog....

A Rodeo and a campout

Thursday night Aaron was giving Bear a few rodeo rides, it started getting a little intense, so he asked for a belt to give Bear something to hold onto.

After their wild night of rodeo, the two of them had their monthly "campout" in the living room. Of course Bear still had to line up all of his cars to sleep by him.

I love watching the relationship of the boys develop with Aaron. We truly are lucky to have such an awesome guy as a dad and husband!

*If you want to see some live footage of the rodeo click here. It may be inappropriate for small children....)

Dr. 90210

Aaron claims his scrubs were too small to wear in the OR, so he cut off the sleeves to turn it into a workout shirt. I think he was really just trying to show up Dr. Ray and become the next Dr. 90210.

You've had a birthday!

The man of the house turned the big TWO NINE last Sunday. Being Sunday we didn't do anything wild or crazy, unless you think going to church and then doing some home teaching is wild.

Saturday night I mixed up some cinnamon rolls and Sunday morning I was nice enough to let Aaron sleep in until 6:30. I know, you can all nominate me for the wife of the year award.

I let Aaron open a couple presents before church-he in turn let Bear do all the unwrapping.

You know you must be a poor graduate student when pens, gum, and some snack candy make a great birthday present.

{notice the 8x10's on the wall. Ya, we need to re-hang them-they were hung before I gave final approval on the spacing}

After a delicious dinner that Aaron cooked all by himself we had a razzleberry pie and sang happy birthday for the 3rd time.

We sure love Aaron and hope he had a great day.

Sunday at the Park

Sunday after church we stopped by a nearby park to show Nana the ducks.

The park must have worn Aaron out because later on he had gone into Bear's room to play with him; Bear came out and told me Daddy was sleeping. I went into the bedroom and found Aaron passed out on the floor.

Football

Aaron is thrilled that it's football season. I went to the store to pick up a few things and came home to find Aaron watching 2 games (one on the tv and one on the computer). He had to have the tv antenna pointed just right and stay in his chair to get good reception, but he was in Heaven. I'm pretty sure I know where I'll find him on Saturdays for the next few months!

Bring it on....

Aaron officially started graduate school on Monday. He was really excited.

When they told him to bring a cart to pick up his text books they weren't kidding. He had to buy a couple more than what's in the picture too. I guess playtime is over...it's time for him to hit the books.

I couldn't help sing "today is a wonderful day, for I am going away. Not to the circus, not to the pool, can't you guess I'm going to school" to myself all day. I can't believe I remember the little jingle from kindergarten.

4-Wheelin' Fun

Aaron was able to go out on a couple rides with some of the guys while we were camping. He loved every minute of it.

The first thing he said to me after coming back from riding the second time was "as soon as we graduate, we are getting one of those". Thanks to the uncles for bringing up their toys and letting Aaron play.
